Capitol Reef National Park

SUPRISE!!
But no one guessed it! HOW?! This place was LEGIT INCREDIBLEEEE.
I put up an e-guide + an hour social media consult for the first human to guess where we were headed for Memorial Day. On this IG post. But no prevail. 🙂 Better luck next trip I guess. We’ve had Capitol Reef on our #PARRISHFAMBUCKETLIST forever. We’ve heard that it’s not quite as busy as the other popular stops, which lead us to the perfect time to go: MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.
We camped out in the BLM land passed just East of the park. These hethans were able to ride their motors sun up to sun down. We’ve found BLM land works best for our wild fam! PLUS IT’S FREEEEEEE! The drive down there told us it would take 4 hours, at our speed, it took 9 hours. Between traffic + stops + who even knows what else, we were happy to be there + blown away by the beauty when we woke up Friday morning!
We drove into town (Torrey) for some more ice + stopped at SLACKER’S for shakes. A MUST DO WHEN VISITING CAPITOL REEF.
We actually decided to go back in + get some burgers the next day, but it was closed due to the holiday, so we went across the street for pizza instead. Super yum, don’t forget the garlic bread sticks + a cookies n cream cone for dessert! Suzie took us to Gifford Homestead  for some pie’s that would supposedly ROCKED OUR WORLD, but they were sold out by the time we got there in the afternoon. Hashtag: Buzz kill. If you plan to go, get there early! Or just don’t go on Memorial Day Weekend :). We enjoyed the park across the street + will be stopping back in for a pie when we visit Goblin Valley!  GET A LOAD OF THIS BRIDGE right across the street in Fruita. The boys would have played around this beaute all day +  I would have happily snapped family picture after family picture of anyone + everyone walking by. 🙂 “YUCK YUCK YUCK” says Jack.

Moments before I dropped my phone in the same swoop of stepping on top of it. Have you ever done that?! Like I couldn’t time that so perfectly if I practiced. I didn’t shatter the screen, rather scraped it across the pointy edge of a rock + dug 2 big scratch marks into it. WHAT’S WORSE. So annoying 
No distractions, all the time for them! Nothing I love more than this huddle of boys. We had ZERO service, which honestly never gets old.  We run 2 businesses from our phones so being able to turn it off (like legitimately) is so unbelievably refreshing!

We are pretty dang lucky to have the Whittier’s for friends. Jack got a strep shot on the way out of town. I caught it by the time we got home + so did J. But they are still our friends + would go back with us right now if I called them. TRUE FRIENDSHIP. PARR+TTIERS = PARRTTIERS. I’m afraid you’re stuck with us for life guys!
