Gigi Pip + ROOLEE Pop UP Shop

Kylee is my younger sister. She has red hair, convinced me she was a dinosaur when I was 10 + is my very best friend in the entire world.

She also owns, designs + wears M A N Y freaking hats over at ROOLEE.COM.
Their brick + mortar location is in Logan, UT.
But this past weekend they loaded up the Sprinter Van + came to party at my hat shop on Saturday. Allowing our creative outlets to collide like this brings me more joy than I could ever really put into words. Some people say working with family is a nightmare?
NOT THIS ONE.

One secret to make your home smell amazing

Call me crazy, but I swear we all have memories of one specific  friend growing up that had a house that smelt better than allllll the rest????


Chad Champlin’s home was the growing up home that smelled best.
Like fresh laundy + unicorns or something!
The kicker? THEY HAD 7 kids.

S W E E T S:  the way Jack says “hammmmeek” |  happy hanna releasing new costumes | 4th of July shenanigans in a new town  | introducing mom + dad to our secret spot to ride motorcycles | shopping the NSALE early | watching Kim catch snakes #momgoals | napping in the trailer during a rainstorm | new eyebrows microboladed by Mel | girls night out with Mo that actually ended crashing the party at castle park | 5 day “weekend” unplugged | watching fireworks + shutting down the park with the whittiers, racing to the chair back | betos run with kids asleep in the back of the jeep

now, the sours. because I think they are important to document + just as fun to look back on.

S O U R S: breaking jonah’s motorcycle by riding too far with rigg without oil | a dead battery when we got to camp | ramming the gigi pip gate over the back of my heel | forgetting to take sunscreen to the layton parade | ducks were gone by the time we got back to feed them with bread | deleting the wrong folder on my laptop + losing alllll the light room preview images | bloated for who knows why? | forgetting closed toe shoes for most of the children, including myself |bruised tailbone with zero memory as to why

Simple meal to impress a Crowd

Orrrrrrrrrr a family of boys.
We’d grill out on our balcony about every other night when we lived in SLC.
To say we miss it is? UNDERSTATEMENT. And even though the back “driveway” (AKA townhouse we call home right now) doesn’t exactly have a birds eye view of the city, it’s shaded during the hottest part of the day.

Teaching our kids to WORK

I honestly don’t want to be a crack the whip Mom.
I have a laid back personality + I’m proud of it I guess you could say.
UNTIL it comes to teaching work ethic.
Then my CRACK THE WHIP comes out full force. WATCH YO SELF.
I also believe in making it fun, so it balances out okay. I guess? 🙂
We REFUSE to have entitled kids who
expect everything to be handed to them.
Jon didn’t grow up like this + neither did I.
The world is teaching them differently, but I’m bound + determined that it is still attainable. We are both business owners, they see us work, they see us play. TOGETHER is the key. Same team, always!

I listened to this podcast the other morning + have been on a mission ever since to develop our own family money philosophy.
Now that summer is pretty much here, it also means entertaining kids!
WORK BEFORE PLAY is what my Mom always taught me!
We’ve been slowly switching out all our home products to more natural ones. Not only is the packaging alwaaaays better, the chemicals are what win me over in the end. Cute cleaning products are the new “cute work out clothes”.  Ya feel me?


Grove Collaborative is my go to for CLEAN home products! They get delivered right to our doorstep!


I found that having one spray bottle for each boy (labeled with names) + one brush for each boy (also labeled) eliminates a whoooole lotta unnecessary bickering. Try it! #winwin

Our boys seem to soak up the independence all while working as a team to achieve an end goal TOGETHER.

At the office they alternate around following jobs:

SMASH BOXES
DUST
DRY MOP
REFILL TP
TAKE OUT TRASH

Crank them tunes!! Make it fun for the kids.
Cleaning isn’t always fun, but they get to choose their attitude + I think it’s best for them to learn that when they are little.
Take breaks between songs.
We are at the office no longer than 45 minutes.
If we go longer they whine + drive me insane.

Capitol Reef National Park

SUPRISE!!
But no one guessed it! HOW?! This place was LEGIT INCREDIBLEEEE.
I put up an e-guide + an hour social media consult for the first human to guess where we were headed for Memorial Day. On this IG post. But no prevail. 🙂 Better luck next trip I guess. We’ve had Capitol Reef on our #PARRISHFAMBUCKETLIST forever.
