<\/a>friday was not my favorite day as a mama. jonah sliced his little foot open. i still can’t believe it. we have this ottoman table in front of our couch and i guess little j wanted to show that metal plated corner how strong his legs have gotten lately…boy did he show it. the worst part is that i didn’t even notice. i put him in his bouncer thinking he was bored? it was just awful. i looked over and his poor little feet looked like they do above. his sweatsuit was red. his bouncer was red. the carpet was red. ahhhh! if you know me well you know i don’t do blood. not at all.<\/p>\n

first thought:<\/span> call jon. he was in a very important meeting so i felt bad bothering him. after calling once with no answer, i sent him the picture above. he called immediately and was already on his way home. (best dad award)
\nsecond thought: <\/span>call mom. duh. i was in hysterics.<\/p>\n

the crazy thing… jonah didn’t seem to notice? go figure. all too familiar with the first time he got his shots. didn’t even flinch.\u00a0i usually believe that my “motherly instincts” are somewhere inside of me, but that bloody mess shot my motherly intuition right out the window. magically we made it through. we got things taken care. we also made a quick target trip for some cute bandaids to make everything better.
\nwhat am i going to do when he calls home from the neighbors with a broken leg?\u00a0makes me wish i had broken a bone once in my life.\u00a0or what about when he comes running into my bedroom bleeding from his chin. (we have all split our chin open right?) i’m thankful we started out with a reasonable amount of blood because i think that i’m in for my money having a boy first.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
