Long weekends are just plain good for the soul. They always seem to fall right when I need them most.
Our original plans for Labor Day fell through so we made do with what we had.
Which was a bunch of commitments at Church. As soon as it was over, up up up to the mountains we went.

Jon is the King of adventure + we really love him for it.
He will pack up + head to the canyon without warning any day of the week.
Whether or not the sink is full of dishes, soup is on the stove or I had JUST washed my hair.
(sounds high-maintenance, but it’s a true story! hair washing is a big deal for this mama)
I especially love watching him teach the boys how to do things.
This weekend included: Starting the fire + making sure the wood was dry
+ shaped like a teepee before it was lit, peeing on the fire (TMI?), drying out the tent in the morning,
+ packing the car with the big stuff on the bottom.
What a blessing to have a patient dad who loves his family the way Jon does.

We brought the guitar + some mallows, our warm jackets + an extra pack of hotdogs.
I’m glad I grabbed our coats last minute because once the sun went down it was chilly!!
Rigg went to bed around 9, Jonah around 11 + then Jon + I mapped out our Fall bucket list.
Excited for the change of season + new adventures with the boys.
Utah is so unbelievably beautiful in the Fall!
