1. How do you find your hat size without trying it on?

This is probably the most asked question of all time! I get it, buying a hat online without trying it on can be tricky. Luckily, Gigi Pip has a hat sizing guide that makes finding your correct size easy. First, measure the circumference of your head (in centimeters for the most accurate measurement) If you are in-between sizes, I would typically recommend sizing up! All Gigi Pip hats have an adjustable inner band that can be tightened to ensure the perfect fit, so when it doubt it is always best to size up + adjust down.

I will say, the Monroe + Zephyr styles do run a bit large, so I would recommend sizing down in these styles specifically.

2. Can you wear felt hats in the summer?

ABSOLUTELY! I wear felt hats allllll year long! Some are worried that they will be too hot in a felt hat, but I haven’t noticed an issue with that. If anything it offers shade on your face during hot summer days. I love pairing a felt hat with a light summer dress or some denim shorts.

3. What is a good beginner hat?

If you are new to wearing hats, I would recommend the Monroe or Zephyr! These styles are great for first-time hat wearers because the brim isn’t too wide. Wider brims can be intimidating for first-time hat wearers, so these styles offer a shorter brim that is easy to wear every day. They also come in soooo many different colors, which makes it easy to fit into your wardrobe.

4. How do I keep my hat clean?

With the launch of new ivory + white felt hat colors, lots are asking how to keep your hats clean. While light color hats look beautiful on your head, they can definitely be a victim of makeup stains.

For simple cleaning tips I would recommend using a hat brush, lint roller, or hat sponge to remove simple surface stains. This is great for removing dust, fibers, or light makeup stains. Gigi Pip now carries a line of hat care items.

For tougher stains like grease, you can try corn starch to absorb the oil. Just leave it on for 5-10 minutes + then brush it away with a hat brush. I also like to use a stain remover for harder stains + for removing makeup from the sweatband. My go-to product for cleaning the sweatband is a Tide To Go Stick.

5. Which style is best for my face shape?

The short answer? Wear any dang hat you want! Hats are paired best with confidence, so I’d say rock any hat that draws your eye.

But I get it, sometimes you just want some extra reassurance that you will love your hat on your face shape. I think Gigi Pip said it best with this blog post on the best hat for your face shape. But if you need some extra reassurance, you can shoot Gigi Pip a DM or reach out to them on Text Chat + they will hold your hand through picking the perfect hat!

6. What is the best way to store your hats?

The best way to store your hats is to hang them! Not only does this help keep your hat in shape, but it also doubles as cute home decor! There are a few ways you can do this. Obviously, you can hang it on a nail in the wall, you can install wooden pegs, or how I would recommend doing it is with good ole Command Hooks. This doesn’t damage your wall + the hooks are strong enough to support your hats.

7. How do you keep your hats in shape?

The answer to this goes back to the best way to store your hat. Hanging your hat helps keep it in shape + prevents any warping of the felt. But, if you do notice the felt is a little bent out of shape, I recommend using a clothing steamer to get it back into shape. You can even use a pot of steaming water or a hot steam shower, but a clothing steamer offers the most control! I link this Amazon steamer for clothes.

8. Can you wear a felt hat in the rain?

I wouldn’t let a rainy day keep you from wearing your favorite felt hat. While it’s best to keep your hat out of water for a long period of time, it will handle just fine in light weather conditions, or even by the pool. If your hat does get wet, lay it on a flat surface to dry completely.

You can also scotchgard your hat for an added layer of protection. My biggest tip for scotchgarding your hat is to spray a thin layer. Don’t spray so much that you can see it on the felt + it looks wet. You just want a thin even layer.

9. How can I change up the look of my hat?

Two words: Hat bands! Hat bands are such a fun + easy way to change up the look of your hat. Gigi Pip has a wide selection of hat bands to choose from. I personally love the new adjustable rope bands or the Cara Loren signature bands.

10. How do you travel with a hat?

You found the perfect hat for your vacation, but now you are probably wondering how you are going to take it with you. While wearing your hat is always the easiest way to travel with it, sometimes that isn’t always an option. I would recommend a hard shell suitcase to keep it safe. Then I would recommend laying it crown down in your suitcase + then packing the rest of your clothing around it. You can even pack socks + underwear into the crown for some extra support.

11. What color of hat should I get?

Gigi Pip has sooooo many colors to choose from, it can be hard to pick just one + one that will fit in seamlessly with your current wardrobe. I would say the best way to pick a hat color is to open your closet + see if you lean towards warmer or cooler tones. If you lean towards cooler tones, I would recommend going with colors like black, sage, or grey. If you lean more towards warmer tones I would recommend colors like brown, cinnamon, or cream.

12. Best hats for small heads?

This is a VERYY popular question. I would recommend something with a shorter brim like the Monroe, Wes or Ginger. Wider brims may feel a bit overwhelming if you have a smaller head, but as you get more comfortable wearing hats, you can try out larger brims. For sizing, I would recommend starting with the size 55 XS. You can always use the adjustable inner band to tighten the fit! Then, if that still is too large, you can also try out Gigi Pip’s kids sizes!

13. Does Gigi Pip make hats for men?

Yes! A few months ago Gigi Pip launched a sister company called Two Roads Hat Co. This is something that has been in the works for a looooonnngg time + we couldn’t be more proud of the team that made it all happen! Two Roads are sold at the Gigi Pip retail store + at https://tworoadshatco.com/

14. Can you wear your hat while driving?

Seems like an odd question, but this actually gets asked a lot! Sometimes it can feel a bit strange driving with a hat on if you are used to resting your head flat against the headrest. It’s totally cool to take off your hat while you’re driving + then pop it back on once you’ve reached your destination. Usually, once you are more comfortable wearing hats in general, wearing them while driving doesn’t feel as strange!

15. Will there be new styles launching this spring?
