Happy International Women’s Day!

There is so much pressure now days to be something or someone more. I feel it myself, I see it in my kids! I am on a mission to break the barriers of pressure. My anecdote?! GRATITUDE!!! Being grateful in each season of life has opened more doors to me than anything else. . . I hope to teach my kids the healing power of love. Self love isn’t selfish. It is putting your mask on first, but it has so much more depth than that! I remember crumbling in my shoes when someone brought up “college”. Where did you go? What did you study? GULP!

Things you’ll never hear me tell my children:

You have to go to college.

Things I tell my children almost every single day: We start each morning on the way to school + each night after prayer by saying something we are grateful for. Filling our minds with what we do have, what we are good at, is slowly breaking down internal + external pressures that are so rampant now days.

I am grateful for my body. I am grateful for my sensitive heart. (haven’t always been) I am grateful that I’ve been entrusted to raise 3 strong boys who depend on me. (always wanted girls) I am grateful for a husband who supports my ideas + loves me uncondtionally. (even if i had to trick him into marrying me) I am grateful for our home (yes the now + the coming). I am grateful for role models who have paved the way for me. (those here on earth + the ones in heaven watching over me) I am grateful for good book. I am grateful for fitness. I am grateful for my life coach. I am grateful for mannny things + above all, I am grateful I am a WOMAN + the strength that lives deep within me.

I’m surrounded by strong women. Women who encourage me to be better + raise little humans who appreciate women. Respect women. I run a women driven + employed hat shop, that is on a mission to instill confidence in women everywhere. WE ALL WEAR MANY HATS + as I learn more about mine, I am grateful for the opportunity to be ME! Unapologetically, me!

WOMEN ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!! I’ve been contemplating where to even start with this post, so I hope this all comes to life as I try to articulate my feelings.

We live in a smaller-ish town in Utah! I feel passionate about getting out of the box + allowing my kids to do the same. Break apart from the stereotypes + become stronger internally than externally. A strong heart is a magnet for miracles. I know there is a similar quote. Gratitude is the miracle worker.

I miss my Grandma Webb every single day of my life. She used to call me weekly + I remember learning at her funeral that she was taking care of many of us. I believe with all my being in the power of women! She taught me that I can do anything I want! As well as my own Mother . . . she didn’t hold an office job while we were young, but you better believe she channeled up all her energy to us 5 strong children + made our upbringing her first priority. Empowerment starts within.

I love all my jobs, being a mother, a sharer, + a hat designer. It’s not easy doing it all, I’m tired, but I will never quit. Each hat I “wear” makes me stronger. They keep me rounded + make me a better boss, a better friend, a better wife, a better sister, a better mother. Feels a little ironic to be raising all boys if I’m being totally honest, but as I’ve been looking back on my Womanhood journey – I know this is where I’m meant to be. I pray we all dig for the strength to recognize that everyone’s story is different, THE SKY IS THE LIMIT for alllllll of us!! May we not fall into the pressure to do what everyone else does!

Happy International Women’s Day!
