I love, Valentine’s Day! Always have, always will. What is the one thing the world can never have too much of? LOVE!
Whether you’re married, dating or single, I wanna challenge you to spread some love this week!
Tell someone you love them, even if it’s only your mom! She probably even deserves it the very most.
HAT | SUNGLASSES | BLAZER | SHIRT (similar) | PANTS
What’s better than celebrating ALL the people we love on the saaame day?! Valentine’s Day may mean grabbing a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s instead of going on a date to a fancy restaurant at this point in our life, but I vote we all commit to LOVING the exact season we’re in a little bit more. Showing up + owning it with our whole heart, because I truly believe that someday, years from now + things have changed, I’m sure we’ll long for these moments.
01 | DAY DATE
On or BEFORE Valentine’s Day. Finding a babysitter or a reservation on Valentine’s can be ROUGH! Juan + I love sneaking away for little day date. Whether it be a trip to the movies, spa or just out to lunch it’s fun to spend some time together before we celebrate as a family!
02 | AFTER DINNER, DINNER
Find a way to make Valentine’s special + fun for your kids. We love to make them squirm with dating photos + date stories. We usually grab drive thru food or thai take out. Then, once they’re tucked in bed + asleep for the night make a real dinner with your boo. I’m not much of a cook, but I love cooking together! Board games are our go to. Fun + simple, but somehow they make a night at home extra special.
03 | GALENTINES
Where my single ladies at?! Make Valentine’s fun! I vote pedicures + the notebook. It’s usually cheaper to book a staycation the weekend prior or following Valentine’s Day, but go for it! Grab the gals + have dinner. I promise when you surround yourself with the people you love, this holiday is 8392834 better!
04 | HEART ATTACK
Service is my 2019 GOAL. The boys are always eager to participate in brightening other people’s days + it usually just takes a little extra prep. Since we’ll be out of town for Valentine’s, we heart attacked our neighbors a week early. Find a family member that could use some extra love + heart attack their front door. Cut out paper hearts in all shapes + sizes, then go tape them to someone’s door. Ring the bell + RUN! Bonus points for leaving a bag of Swedish Fish!
05 | PINK MILK WAFFLE BAR
Spending some extra time in the morning to make heart shaped waffle or pancakes is simple. But coming from someone who isn’t a very good cook, leave it at food coloring in the cereal milk + call it a morning! 🙂 Remember, kids are easy – – – they don’t need much fancy to be impressed!
06 | LOVE NOTE
J0n + I have a notebook that we write letters back + forth with. Started when we were dating. Some are long, some are short + it’s one of my very most prized possessions. If you haven’t done this with you boo, I think Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to start! Plus the Target dollar spot has some freeaking cute notebooks.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope every single one of you hold onto. Tell your Mom you love her, write a note to your grandpa. + embrace the life you live exactly as it is.
If you need any last minute gift ideas, I shared a few of my favorites here.
xx.
