We are officially moved into our town home. For now! We are very excited to bring you along with us as we build our dream home — but are happy to be settled right here in between until we have our plans finalized. We are partnering with Breyers as we find our footing, get our ducks in a row + make time to have an awesome Ice Cream party as we wait for our home to be built!
We’ve lived at the pool since we moved in. There are a couple of them to choose from + we just ride our bikes over several times a day. Our garage door opener is currently hooked to my bike (not the van) if that tells you how often we are here? It’s a big change from living downtown Salt Lake City — but we have been able to ride our bikes + enjoy a much slower pace than we ever did in the Avenues. The boys are adjusting well, which makes me so happy!
When Jonah was 2 years old he did a backflip on our bed out of NOWHERE. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES. I ran to get my phone to take a video to show Jon, but when I told him to do it again — he jumped right onto his neck + scared us both half to death. So that was fun.
Now that he’s a little older, he taught himself how to backflip off the bed onto the mattress from our spare bedroom AGAIN. INSANE! If we turn our heads for 3 seconds, he’ll flip off of anything + everything that has a lip. His latest is off the plastic pool chair on the side of the pool. Crazy kiddo! Love his fearlessness.
Finding time more like making time for simple moments keeps me grounded. I have a history of a jam packed schedule, but I’m trying to slow my roll + loving what I’m finding along the way. We miss our old neighborhood + comfort zone like crazy. It has put my positivity to the test, but also reminds me that this little family of mine is EVERYTHING! HOME IS WHEREVER WE ARE TOGETHER.
I have really taken back to my roots to keep positive about the changes all around me. I continue to meditate each morning. I enjoy ‘The Every Branch’ podcast + get excited when she updates!! The introvert | extrovert episode was something I needed to hear. I’m working on not letting my feelings get hurt over things that aren’t in my control + celebrating little things during the day just because!
I came across this article my friend Meg wrote for The Huffington Post right about the time we were moving. Jon + I decided to implement her dinnertime tradition here at our new home. We ask the boys (we all answer) these 3 questions every single night:

Ice Cream party has been our go to family treat! We headed to the pool after Jon got off work the other night to celebrate NO MORE MOVING BOXES IN OUR BEDROOM!! They had us buried alive there for a minute. Jack is toddling around everywhere lately. Keeping right up with his big brothers. He walks on his own terms, so when he wants to get there extra fast — he’ll bear crawl the majority of the way, then stand up when he arrives. Makes us laugh! Cute, cute boy. He’s rocking this one year old thing in all the best ways.
