I’ve been making intentional efforts in my personal style. Trying to focus on the quality of the products I purchase, rather than the fast fashion that doesn’t feel as timeless + is often looked at as more more more. Or impulse buys. With the intention of creating a more timeless closet, I began the year by getting rid of allllll the shoes I didn’t wear. And bags. For whatever reason I keeeep allllll the bags + shoes always. But only wear like 3.
Shopping smarter doesn’t always have to come with a higher price tag. The jeans I have on here are the ones I found on AMAZON for like $30 bucks. Don’t think you need to update your entire wardrobe at once. That’s not setting anyone up for success. Want to give you a few tips + things to look for if you’re interested in curating your own closet with more timeless pieces that you LOVE. There are plenty of finds to be found at estate sales + vintage thrift shops. I don’t have the time to hunt like I used to, so I appreciate the shops who have kept true to foundational pieces. Start small. Dedicate a few days to pulling EVERYTHING out of your closet + rebuild with pieces you have worn more than four or five times.
Here are a few of my favorite shops to buy from. I think they curate +/or design thes types of investment pieces that last:
ABLE – I’ve had the same wallet from them for 4 years now. currently on sale for $45 + GINGER25 makes it 33.75 with freee shipping. gasp! INSANE! Their pieces only get better with age. This denim jacket is one I plan to keep for my future granddaughters. I sized up to a Large for an oversized fit. Don’t forget to use my code, it expires on Dec. 18
JAMES STREET CO – This pant, cardigan set I ordered was a bit itchy at first, but the more I’ve worn it the more it’s formed to my body. Lots of questions on my pants every time I wear them. You get what you pay for with wool.
TRIBE ALIVE – discovered this brand at Magnolia Silobration a couple years back. We were booth neighbors, I ADORE this company. They sell pieces at Madewell as well. You might recognize these linen white pants that I live in in the summer. Have loved pairing themwith a chunky sweater as it’s cooled down a bit.
EVERLANE : This sherpa sweatshirt is still one of my favorite sweatshirts. I’ve worn + loved it this year as much as I did the last couple.
TRADLANDS : This store has been around since 2012. I am here for the simple, timeless pieces + tailored cuts. I love love the clay in linen.
GIGI PIP: once you invest in a nicer hat you’ll take better care of it + see that it will last you many years from now. you get what you pay for, especially with hats. GPARRISH for free shipping
xx.
