My 20’s were a dannnnng good run. I met Jon, we sold our house, we had 3 beautiful baby boys, we sold a business, started a couple more + are currently desiging (for the second time) our dream home! I love the life I live. ABSOLUTELY every shape of the way, love my life. Love where my heart is headed + love who I am becoming.
30 things I learned in my 20’s
- wash your face before you’re tired
- hold on to the friends who love you at your worst + your best
- don’t take your cell phone into the gym
- tell friends + family you love them when you leave
- ask questions at church
- show strangers the photo you’d like them to take before you had them your phone
- do one act of kindess every single day
- HIRE A LIFE COACH
- you know the parenting answers better than anyone else
- don’t use fabric softener on jeans, the buttons will fall off
- grocery shop without kids whenever possible
- pick one day a week not to talk about yourself at ALL
- don’t fake the knot in rock climbing
- start + end the day in grateful meditation or prayer
- have the nail lady take off your shellac
- doesn’t matter if you make dinner, but always eat together as a family
- plan halloween costumes before halloween
- read scriptures before any form of phone time
- cut the fruit right when you get home AKA before you put it away in the fridge
- do a little bit of wash each day so it doesn’t pile up
- start every date night with the laughing game
- always give second chances
- SING in the car (keeps me from getting on my phone)
- challenge your kids to a thumb war once a week
- quality friends > quantity friends
- nobody has it all figured out
- give others the benefit of the doubt
- DRINK.MORE.WATER.
- The way people treat you is their problem, how you react is YOURS.
- SHAVE.YOUR.FACEI always dreaded the day I hit the big 3-0. BUT the times have changed + I have a really good feeling about the next 10 years. Plus, no more forgetting how old I actually am.
Soooooo here’s to turning 30! I weirdly feel a new maturity, a weight off my shoulders, “leveling up” as Kelsee would say! If my 20’s made me who I am, my 30’s are where I get to thrive!Knomsayin? Stoked to explore my new skin – – – orrr old skin, however you wanna look at it.
My favorite is numero 29! I ALWAYS tell my kids their reactions are up to them, but this sums it up in such a perfect quote! Happy 30th + thanks for all the positivity, even when discussing the sours!
What is the laughing game?! Great advice! Happy 30!
Peyton – – – thank you so much! And oh man it roots back to our dating days. You take turn fake laughing as loud as you can in different voices or tones + the first one to real laugh loses!
