As a family, Jon + I have chosen a lot of different experiences + family traditions that we hope really shape our boys as they grow.
As long as I have known Jon, he’s been dreaming of owning a Sprinter Van. It’s one of the big bolded items on our family bucket list! THE DAY IS HEREEEEE. We own a sprinter + the adventures have begunnnn.

Backcountry challenged us to create our outdoors GOAT (greatest of all time) moment + holy crap our minds have been racing. This resonates so deeply with us as a family. The actual GOAT. We nominate the not quite named Sprinter Van that just joined our family as the house where many of our GOAT moments will take place. Looking back at some of our fondest memories are documented, lots of them are not. By partnering with Backcountry, we are excited to document them because this van is home to many many more memories, I can feel it.

Sometimes I think it’s funny/fun to try to convince Jon to move closer to the beach, but honestly. We’d all miss the mountains too much. We are the happiest outside. We spent the majority of our Summer nights tucked away in different campsites + made a point to head up to the mountains every chance we got.
In an effort to make one more weekend outdoors happen before it got too cold, we decided to update the boys’ gear + head out on our first sleepover in the new van. (NAME SUGGESTIONS ACCEPTED/ENCOURAGED)

STOKED to share a 15% discount code for backcountry. Backcountry has been a site we can count on for lots of ongoing things. Snowsuits, jackets, skiis, water bottles, reliable boots, etc. I feel like there’s a little something for everyone on that site.
Cute boots, Jack Jack. 🙂

The best part about these boys is that they’re always eager + willing to help out, It only becomes problematic when all 3 want to do E V E R Y T H I N G by themselves. Trying to embrace the chaos, I know it doesn’t last forever. We are planning to build out the Sprinter so we take it to the races or can hop + go at the drop of a hat.
It definitely teaches patience!

But it’s these moments, the ones where we’re dirty, tangled, ragtag, + together, that we are happiest. We get to see their eyes fill with wonder as they explore, discover new things, + every single thing is the “coolest” thing we’ve ever shown them.
They find joy in the mundane + the unimpressive.

It’s these moments that I wish I could bottle, + like a home movie, take off the shelf + relive when I miss them at these ages.
As far as GOAT moments go, I discovered that we have them all the time. Every moment we share as a family, explore the magic at each age, + do things we love are the greatest of all time.

This past weekend, we had a get out into our local nature… My mother-in-law’s paddle out to scatter her ashes at out local beach occurred. My husband and I took the time to not only honor her memory, but also took stock in our kids. We live on the beach in Florida, but hardly go with busy schedules, four kids, and opening a new business. After the scattering of ashes and bougainvillea flowers, all 6 of us ended up fully clothed in the water. No phones, no distractions. Just our family, the beach, and the celebration of a woman who will be missed. I know it may not seem like a huge trek, but for our family it was a much needed memory to make.
Moments like that you will cherish forever!
