We can’t be on time for church no matter how hard I try.
I know it starts in my head. BUT I STILL CAN’T. I HAVE TRIED SO.HARD. SO.MANY.TIMES.
Week after week. Sunday after Sunday. You can count on us for being late.
We were soooooo close this week, but couldn’t quite pull it off.
But you know what my sweet neighbor + dear friend said to me as we both sat in the foyer waiting to go in?
“Better being late + have happy kids, than be on time + have everyone hating each other.”
AND you know what, she is EXACTLY RIGHT! It stuck to my heart with glue. Funny I couldn’t come to the conclusion on my own, but I’m eternally, gratefully, saying A M E N + A M E N!
So amidst the tornado of a Sunday morning, I’m not dreading the walk of shame quite like I was before she opened this thought to me. I know that we are never alone! Let’s try not to let the insecurities of the world keep us from the true principals of The Gospel. They bring me peace. Not being on time or being late. I consider her words of affirmation a big fat blessing in disguise. No one else is paying as close attention to our own image as we are, KNOCK it off GP.
In other news: the sun is staying up later now, which I both love + don’t love because the kids aren’t buying bed time routine as easily. But it also means Summer is right around the corner — SO bring it on!
My dress is from ROOLEE BOUTIQUE + I Found my shoes on sale at ANTHROPOLOGIE.
Thanks for listening (or reading) my ramblings! Here’s to a better week than last! xx
I love 2PM church. But I don’t have kids. 🙂
I love that wisdom! Also, I love how much movement all your photos have. I can tell just from the photos that you’re never yelling “be still! look at the camera!” and can I just say, as a photographer, I alleyways prefer happy clients that are moving than still clients that are stressed. I love it!
We have church at 9am…Its brutal! and it usually starts 5 minutes before 9 anyways. Its just impossible for us to make it! We are also in a ward with just older people who just eyeball us when we show up really late. Oh, well! We’re trying our best to make it, but with little Arren never wanting to sleep at night it makes us grumpy zombies, when we wake up to try and get to church.

It’s hard for me to get to church on time… and I don’t have kids yet!

Wow! It was as though I could have written this myself. Every Sunday, it’s a battle to get my baby girl to cooperate. She absolutely hates the car! Praying for a miracle ;)!
LOVE THIS! We were about 10 min late to church one Sunday and after the service was over a gal was sweetly telling me how cute and put together our family was. Immediately I mentioned how we were late for church and she replied “that’s only 5 extra minutes per kid, you’re doing great!” It brought tears to my eyes!
