parting ways

it’s gone.
 we sold it.
did i cry? yes
am i stoked for something new? yes
is jon the best husband in the world? yes
do i get attached to things WAA-HAAY too easy? yes
dear shiny black subaru,
i couldn’t let you go without sharing a few of your accomplishments with my friends
::
she took us to nine different states.
she took us to maple canyon, jackson hole, the snake river, logan canyon
(and all of those other canyons i don’t remember the names of to rock climb)
she took jonah home from the hospital for the first time when i was a nervous wreck.
she took a real life beating from the tandem bike for our engagement pictures and NEVER complained once.
she learned to drive to logan all by herself while we got to sleep. (real talk)
she read 12 books to us. yes twelve. and they were bigg’ens.
she chose me over jon every time when the “heat wars” began.
ya know the ones where ginger believes the north pole is warmer than the car at the moment,
 and jon is dramatically sweating to death and hardly manages
 to get one word in every 29 breaths as he pants like a bulldog?
sidenote: dual temp air vents are my fav invention. {heat always wins}
she got me out of three speeding tickets.
she accidentally bumped into a real fancy car at the stop light and didn’t leave one bit of evidence.
she knows the secret route to neverland.
and my most favorite of all,
she is the dear home to those 3 special words that i heard from my cute husband for the very first time 4 lovely years ago.
::
i’m guessing we are going to miss you the next time we want to go camping. i’m also hoping we will still be accepted in slc abandoning you like this.
(every 3rd car we see in our neighborhood now days is Subaru)
BUT, just like all other worldly possessions, the fun eventually comes to an end…
…and life goes on.
thank you for the good times!
you be good for your new owners, ok?
it’s been real,
jon ging and lil j

ps i’m sorry we never gave you an official name. you should know that we’ve never really been into that kinda thang. we’ll save that for jonah’s little brothers and sisters.

we be strollin

we like to go for family walks on sunday afternoons.
today the weather was absolutely incredible, and we ended up at liberty park.
jon is always so clever. i couldn’t help but laugh at how many times he turned something into a game. or a race. or a competition.
for example: he made the yummiest of yummy sunday dinners today….
but the first one finished eating had to do the dishes.
we both ended up doing the dishes, only i got sprayed with the hose.
the first one to dry 3 pans and put them away with NO water drops or streaks left on them,
got to choose the park for our sunday stroll.
rock paper scissors who gets to push j in the stroller first,
last one to the end of the sidewalk has to do a headstand.
{i won the drying of the pans, jon got to push jonah first and i had to do a headstand}
 yada yada yada and on and on and on.
neither of us like to lose. unfortunately i’ll tell it to you straight, i’m ususally the loser.
he’s just too good.
but i am getting pretty darn good at justifying my way to the victor spot!
trash talky talk-i have to hold my own being outnumbered and all.
jonah was a total daddy’s boy today. i could hardly contain my proud”ness”. {the good kind of pride}
naturally my coolness level goes up by 95 when i am with these two.  if you want to melt like a snow did on our deck this morning…go take a listen to jonah’s full blown belly laugh as jon makes faces at him in his stroller. there is nothing more rewarding as a mother.

game time

found this little lovely in my inbox this morning. paper coterie is my favorite photobook website. i kind of went photo book crazy last year for christmas. we gave one to all of our family. i made one for jonah. i made one for jon. i made one for grandpa, and one for grandma. they are just that cute. i sprinted to the porch every single day for a week until they got here. i wish you could see how great they turned out.
you should probably just make one of your own and find out, huh?
www.papercoterie.com
you won’t regret it.

there are a bunch of these same type of photo-a-day challenges that float around on instagram.
i attempted one back in january and
F-A-I-L-E-D
in fact, i failed miserably.
but i am a changed woman. and am really loving to blog lately.
i have already committed to post one picture a day on here so why not turn it into a little scavenger hunt?
i feel this is totally doable, and could be a lot of fun.
i’m going to place this little chart in camera bag and go from there.
i double-dog-dare you to do the same.

pancake shmancake

happy NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY to you!
just as jonah and i pulled in to meet papa for pancakes
he called us to claim that he doesn’t really like pancakes.
lies.
haha
we didn’t go get pancakes.
but i was completely satisfied with a salad bigger than the diaper bag

and a sugar cookie for desert.

we had a busy day today. got A LOT done.
thank you dear iphone for being the designated photographer.

we all managed to dress in stripes [such a funny surprise]
we got the house cleaned. got the wash washed.
jonah helped me fold the laundry
we watched toy story 3
he took a 2 and a half hour nap
he sat up by himself and watched the snow fall
he wrestled with papa
he flew on my airplane while we listed to Mitt give his victory speech
he tasted his first french fry.
he went to bed about fifteen mintues ago and jon just said to me
“can i go wake jonah up, i miss him already”
couldn’t have said it better myself.
you’re pretty cool jonah j.
