On Family Traditions. . . .
Feels like we are sort of sitting at a big crossroad in life rn. 
It feels crazy, I’m sure it sounds even more crazy. I’m verrrry much for traditions. I love them with all of my heart. But we are nearing the stay at home for Christmas season of our life + it is freaking me out. Are you big on traditions? I am trying to wrap my head around not being with our siblings on Christmas morning. Am I really old enough to be a Mom? (please tell me I’m not the only one who asks this from time to time) Is it my kids who are all together + not with their cousins? FACE PALM. But really, it’s pulling on my heart. 
We were hoping to be in our new home by this Christmas. But we are a good year behind schedule, so hopefully by next? Patience in all things ya? 🙂
Traditions based around the Holiday Season are so special to our family. To me, growing up, my parents created a childhood filled with family memories. Jon’s grew up doing similar things with his family. Do you find yourself in a crossfire with the way things are supposed to be? 
I’m not much of a planner, but guess what – – – I’ve been changing my ways. I have a plan. Owning a business is hard to shut off at times. But as we near the holiday’s, we plan to be very intentional with our time. And with our traditions. At what point in your life did you cut back to just your little family? Or do you still go with a big group for Christmas? I love them both. Jon + I each say ohhh let’s try it this year ( when it’s not our year). I live to spend time with the boys + hope they always look back + feel loved. I don’t think they’ll remember the silly fuss over this or that, but they will remember being loved no matter what! AND PAJAMAS. Always matching Christmas jammies that will remind me of my own childhood no matter where I am in life.

2. Hosting a service project at Gigi Pip
2. Picking out the best Christmas Lights + doorbell ditching treats
3. Cutting down our own Christmas Tree in the forrest for reals
4. Volunteering downtown with the kids
5. Talking to Jenson on Christmas Day

Lip Service – My Top Lip Picks
You didn’t get enough sleep + soda basically fueled you through the day before, you have a big presentation to nail, you have to meet with your kid’s teacher because he broke all the pencils, or you are just looking for some way to add a little polish to your look with the help of various lip picks!
We all have that one thing that helps us feel better about life – or at least look good while dealing with it.
My goto? Lipstick. Gloss. Balm. + most of the time, matte.
That bright swatch compliments the perfect nude eye. A subtle one offsets a smokey eye. + sometimes, when the sun is just a bit too bright, your lip distracts from the fact that you’re wearing your sunglasses indoors.

These Lip Picks Never Let Me Down No Matte-r What
This is my $9 ole faithful + I’ve got them stashed EVERYWHERE. For that price, I don’t mind leaving these in the car, my office, + anyplace else I need a trusty lip color on-the-go.
The Revlon Colorburst Balms also come in a lacquer (shine) finish, if that’s your preference.
Why I Love It:
The balm goes on smooth, delivering semi-sheer color, and a buttery finish. + if I’m totally honest, there is something hugely satisfying about scribbling on my makeup.
My top 3 shades are Striking, Fiery, + Sultry. You can shop them HERE.
Yes, I wear blush on my lips, but they’re really more of a tint. The crème formula is the same consistency as any cream lipstick I own. The Honest Co Crème Blush comes in 4 colors + are so easy to throw in a purse.
At $13 bucks a pop, this is an inexpensive option for a multitasking makeup essential.
Why I Love It:
I like these for their versatility +I can use them for their intended purpose + a matching lip color when I need a 5-minute face.
I really like all 4 shades, but Plum Berry is definitely my favorite!
These tinted-chapsticks are so creamy smooth. I feel like calling them a ‘chapstick’ is selling them short. They are sunscreen, balm, + lip tint all in one!
They definitely earn their $24 price tag by featuring grapeseed oil + vitamins C and E, which help to smooth + soften + are rich in antioxidants known to protect from damaging free radicals.
Why I Love It:
So. Many. Colors. + it’s Fresh. This company uses all-natural ingredients in all of their products + they truly DO leave you feeling fresh!
My favorites from this line are Coral, Punch, + untinted Sugar. (I know, no color. But it’s really that good!)

This Allure Best of Beauty 2018 lip crayon is rich + highly-pigmented. It’s water-resistant, matte finish isn’t drying like some older matte formulas, thanks to the ingredient orange peel wax, which seals in hydration.

Why I Love It:
These DO NOT feather (bleed outside the lip) + these act as a lipliner + lipstick in one.
My favorite shades for these are Blood Orange, Red Velvet, + Léché.
This is fancy lipstick for the laid-back chick. It’s the slimmest, so-pigmented-it’s-drool-worthy matte lipstick you need to have in your makeup bag.
Available in 17 shades + clocking in at $39, YSL totally knocked it out of the park with these.
Why I Love It:
There are actually 3 reasons these made my lip picks list:
- You can apply it in 1 swipe – the wide side of the stick will cover your lip from top to bottom and give you even coverage the whole way.
- You can use it as a lip liner – the thin side of the stick is slim enough to act as the perfect lip liner to give your lips that polished finish.

Grammy’s Halloween Bash
October is here! CRAAAZY. Any weekend that starts with a little motocross + an infamous Grammy holiday party is bound to be incredible. Jon gets his party animal spirit from his Mom +I love both of them for it. So, so much.

I swear I have a BMX/motocross post in the works where I break down the ‘how to get started’ + where to get all the goods + how not to lose your mom-cool all the dang time! Don’t you dare let me forget to polish it up + SHARE IT. I have too many drafts backed up in here it’s a little embarrassing.
Our ragtag bunch loves hitting the mountains during fall because of the vibrant colors. We were so thrilled when Jon’s mom moved to Midway, do you blame us? Get a load of that landscape. The canyon looks like it’s been repainted with splashes of red, green, yellow, + orange rn.
I love that Rigg and Jonah have something they can bond over + be total ‘boys’ about. It still feels foreign to me, I’d pictured my gang of girls growing up, but this scene absolutely makes my heart soar.

Grammy is the ULTIMATE Party Planner
There is nothing better than a weekend with the fam. Killer food, way too many games + activities to get to + squeezing the last bit of sunlight out of the summer before we fully accept that it’s fall. AKA snowing in the mountains.
So many of you have asked how to do these witch-finger pretzels and I promise to ask my MIL. AKA party food master. In the meantime, here is a pretty good source!
Any party-goer knows that it starts to get real when you break out the costumes. I mean, if you didn’t dress up did you even HAVE a party?

Rigg did Jack’s face paint for the fashion show! Neither of them could stop smiling.
We went back + forth on family themes for a couple weeks. It basically came down to whatever you want! Big talkers around here. We each had to choose a song to walk down the catwalk to + got prizes at the end of it. 
The Monster Mash is one we look forward to every year. I love that Grammy threw it before October to accommodate many different schedules. It always encompasses the things we love most: family + pumpkin carving + games + Hocus Pocus under the stars + priceless memories. I truly feel like these are the memories that will last forever. 
Family is super important to us. Making time to hang out + invest in them is at the top of our list. NO MATTER WHAT. The holiday season makes it so easy! PARRISH CAMPING LIST
10 things to take on every camping trip: 
besides 10 separate hats? 
Hahah crazy hat lady probs. But now that the weather is cooling down a bit, the leaves are starting to turn, I challenge you to sneak in a quick overnight trip with your family if you have access!!! Ahhhh it’s sooooo pretty right now.
The only thing (aside from family) that keeps us from moving to the beach is these incredible mountains that we call home! 
Thought it might be useful for those of you who feel like camping is overwhelming if I shared the basics I take on every camping trip! Luckily the majority of ours stays in the pop up trailer. We pack in tupperwares + leave the majority of it packed so when we want to up + go, it’s not too crazy. We hit the nearest grocery store on our way out of town + grab food for however long we’ll be out or range. I’ll be sharing a few of our favorite meals to fix up while camping here soon! AKA whenever I sit down + type it up. 
1. JOURNAL, pen + a book
2. Bug Spray, sunscreen
3. Camp chairs to sit around the fire
4. Roasting Sticks
5. WATER
6. Pajamas

I’m an overpacker. Like one of the worst you’ll ever meet. I hail marry as much as humanly possible into any bag at all times. EXCEPT for when it comes to camping!! So that gives me hope. I’ve found that the less clothing we bring along the better. Might have something to do with less dirty laundry to do when we get home? We keep our camping items in a tupperware, wash when we get home + put them right back inside of the bin for next time!
I didn’t grow up camping. We did one campout every summer at my Grandma’s grassed property up the canyon. My dad treated his girls so right! But as I’ve embraced this “BOYMOM” hat I’ve really really really really started to fall in love with the simplicity that lives off the grid.

Cruising with Garmin
We just got back from a Carribean Cruise + the boys are claiming it was the best vacation they’ve ever been on. EVER. I don’t blame them. I didn’t have the best service so I didn’t share much while we were there.
If you follow us on instagram, you’ve seen the boys with their GARMIN VivoFit Jr 2. This is how we track steps, earn screen time + manage chore charts. It’s sort of become a fun little competition for our family. They are able to advance in app adventures by meeting 60-minute daily activity goals! Together we are able to set up challenges + rewards. There’s an alert option in the app for parents + we have pretty much nixed the chore charts at this point. The app makes it suuuper easy. 
You see those steps to the top of the racing slide? That was where Rigg broke his Personal record with over 20 THOUSAND steps. It’d take me a week to do that 🙂 I love that they don’t have to be recharged + are swim-proof. The stretchy band comfortably fits a wrist 147 mm in circumference; choose an adjustable band for a larger size. I slid my skinny wrist into Jack’s watch one day just to trash talk the older boys. They still dominated in steps. Haha!

So while we were at the beach, both of them got sand stuck in the little crack. I was nervous about it, but it worked itself out by nightfall. Shocked at the durability in these little guys. They have a 1 year battery life + never have to be charged. I wish my apple watch had this. 
That zipline was Jonah’s place to shine. I’m scared of heights ( + forgot closed toe shoes) but I was happy to stay on the deck + snap pictures of this rockstar. 
We have been on one other cruise as a couple, for our honeymoon. Taking the kids was the best decision we’ve made in a long time. There was just the right amount of kid friendly activities + a free camp for them to attend whenever we wanted to get fancy for dinner! Worked out better than my heart could have planned.
We had to beg the boys to get off the boat at the ports. This was eating lunch before we got off to explore Grand Turk. I have lots of pointers for families who are wanting to go on a cruise! We thought (I worried) about it for years before we finally just went for it! Let me know if there is anything specific you’d like answered in regards to cruising with your family.
