Have I admitted here that I only wash my hair once a week? Or just on IG? Either way, I don’t love clean hair.
Utah is super dry, so I don’t have humidity to fight against. I change things up when I go to Texas.
Who does my hair? I get it cut + colored by EVAN STOWERS
Here are a few hacks I’ve discovered throughout the years!
Add all texturizing product while your hair is flipped over! It weighs my hair down if I put it on top.
I like gritty texture, but if you can’t handle the feeling of dry shampoo, I’d recommend using this bed head smoothing cream. You only need a tiny little dab, I still have the bottle I got in hair school, it will last you foreverrrrrr.
Place dry shampoo in your clean hair to make your wash last longer + give your maximum body!
This is my holy grail hair product. If I had to only choose one, this is it.
I used to naturally recommend this product to every single person that asked me what I use in my hair, until I made my best friend try it right before we walked out the door + she felt like it made her look like she just got out of the shower! MAKE SURE YOU TIP YOUR HAIR UPSIDE DOWN when you use it. I like to put the texture on the bottom so it doesn’t weigh down the top.
Place in roots after styled + then rub it into place. It fights oil, give you instant volume + texture!
It’s equal parts dry shampoo + dry root lift. I use it on clean, freshly curled hair. I will also put a little in my finger tips + rub it through the front pieces of my hair.
I suggest holding the bottle above your head then tap it with your finger into place. Don’t just start dumping, it comes out fassst! Learn from my mistakes.
Bumble to Bumble tends to be a bit more pricey, but it seems to last a long time so it’s easily justified in my mind, but to each their own. I use this texture spray daily to help add texture to my hair!
Do you have a hairspray you love? I feel a little high maintenance using separate from my kids, but what I use for them has waaaay too much hold. I use this hairspray with my texture spray, as most need to be sealed in. I’ve found is the best mix of shine + sealant.
Be sure to use code: GPARRISH on anything from Gigi Pip!
I’m ready to say sinara to January this week. . . what about you? Lots of times I get in a funnnnnk. BUT, luckily we were able to head toward the sun last weekend + did our first road trip in the sprinter! It was sooooo good for us!!
The boys got to bust out the motorbikes + nothing makes my mama heart more happy + scared then watching these boys do what they love.
Sidenote, but another sweet from this week was my hat – – – the Monroe is now available for pre-order! This little lady sold out in a week the first time we launched her + has been flying off the shelves again this round!
We packed up the motorbikes + headed South for the weekend. Chasing some sunshine for mama + some tracks for the boys! Our first R O A D T R I P in the sprinter van! While the boys were in their ‘first class’ seats in the back, I had a few hours to online shop. WHAT?!!!
Stepping into this new year with lots of thoughts running through my mind. What to focus on + where we can help the boys succeed the most. One thing that keeps coming back to me is technology. Feels a bit inevitable.
to keep you from going absolutely insane with your kids.
So like, anyone else ready for the sun to come back out? We’ve been in Utah for a minute + I’ve found that if we sit down as a family + throw out ideas (new or recurring) that we want to add to our #PARRISHFAMBUCKETLIST, the winter months don’t seem so draaaag. It’s frigid by 3:45 so it’s really motivating during the long winter months to have a game plan. I do not like being cold. In fact, I really hate it. But in lieu of complaining all the live long day about it, I try hard to enjoy it.
There’s NOTHING better than FRESH mountain air, summer or winter. The boys love being on the mountain + it’s amazing how happy we all our when we leave. Jon grew up on Brighton, I went to Beaver Mountain. Above the inversion if possible, because even if you’re freeezing, the photos you’ll have in the end will make you happy! Jack finally has his cast off, which has been a sigh of relief. Weekend fill up fast around the Holidays, but the older we get in our marriage, the more we are hunkering down with our family! Doesn’t have to be fancy as snowboarding. Go build a snowman + take slo-mo videos of the kids jumping over it.
02 | MOVIE NIGHT
We’ve loved our little projector this year! Buuuut, if this isn’t an option for you – – – build a fort at home, grab some yummy treats at the dollar store, your coziest blankets + enjoy a night in. Our favorite family movie is: THE GOOFY MOVIE
Staycations are fun + something new for us! Always finding excuses to get out of the house. But even if you don’t want to spend the night, look up a local hotel with either an indoor pool or heated outdoor pool or hot spring! You could also head to your local rec center + let the kids get alllll their energy out. If they’re anything like our boys, they’ll soak that crap right up!
04 | BOARD GAMES
Do you have a favorite board game? We each get a new game for Christmas every year! I have fun thinking about them during the year. Jon is insaaaane good at any type of strategic thinking game + I seem to cream him in speedy card games. They take us straight back to our dating days. The boys have stepped right up to the plate + love them as much as we do! Competitive family much? Sharing a few of our favorites below. Can you guess who holds the Parrish record in Bop It? Jonah!
PS: we don’t play Cards against humanity with our kids, sicko!
05 | MIDWAY ICE CASTLES
ELSA IS THAT YOU? The Ice Castles in Midway We haven’t been yet this year, it opened the night we were in Midway, but we had prior plans. but it’s on the #Parrishfambucketlist. If you’re local to Utah go check it out!!! There’s even an ice slide!
Quick story: The Ice Castle owners were on my solo flight to Dubai! I saw their sweatshirts, but was a little preoccupied at the time if you can image + didn’t really make small talk. When we were on our desert safari THEY WERE IN OUR GROUP. All the way across the world + booked the same Safari Adventure. I really need to get a Dubai blogpost up! But anyways, I was happy to have some free hands + attention to talk! Suuuch kind people + the smallest world.
06 | SLOW MOTION VIDEOS
Are my boys the only ones who live for a good slow motion video? Keeps them entertained for hours. They usually request jumping off of things + ask me to score them. But the other day we let the train station+ skate park collided for an afternoon of filming. You have to get down low + see who can make the best jumps. If you have any suggestions as to what to do with video sent it my way, I’m all ears.
Jon went alll out for my Dirty 30!! He did recruit Suz for help + I’m stillllllll smiling trying not to cry over the love I’ve felt all weekend.
I honestly used to think that the more friends the better. But as I’ve gotten wiser, I’ve fine tuned the people I put my energy towards + I have never felt more full.
I saw Jon leave the house with his shiz kicker boots + I’m not gonna lie I was definitely nervous.
Come to find out, there was no reason to be anxious all day. It was low key + everything I’d hoped it would be.
No talent show.
No performing.
Just good drinks + a dance line.
I didn’t take many pictures of the actual party.
Gord took his turn down the catwalk dance line + whipped his coat around so hard he brought the party lights down with him.
We are still laughing over it!
I’ve always hoped my 30’s would be bring contentment + lessss perfectionism.
So far so good (says me at 5 days in). I haven’t been writing in my journal as much, but I never want to forget the love I felt on Saturday.
Please bless this peace + contentment is here to stay! I love this life I get to live + the people I get to share it with!
My 20’s were a dannnnng good run. I met Jon, we sold our house, we had 3 beautiful baby boys, we sold a business, started a couple more + are currently desiging (for the second time) our dream home! I love the life I live. ABSOLUTELY every shape of the way, love my life. Love where my heart is headed + love who I am becoming.

DRINK.MORE.WATER.
The way people treat you is their problem, how you react is YOURS.
SHAVE.YOUR.FACEI always dreaded the day I hit the big 3-0. BUT the times have changed + I have a really good feeling about the next 10 years. Plus, no more forgetting how old I actually am.
Soooooo here’s to turning 30! I weirdly feel a new maturity, a weight off my shoulders, “leveling up” as Kelsee would say! If my 20’s made me who I am, my 30’s are where I get to thrive!Knomsayin? Stoked to explore my new skin – – – orrr old skin, however you wanna look at it.
