Boys Easter Outfits

Last Easter we thought no doubt we’d be in our new home by 2021. With the time ticking down, it’s gonna be a close call. Our first official shoot in our studio with Janie and Jack getting us extra excited. (peep back into Easter 2020)

Nothing this mama loves more than some scrubbed up boys looking dapper than ever. LOOK HOW HANDSOME MY BOYS ARE! Church has always been my time to still pull together outfits for these growing boys. Easter Sunday in particular. Feels good to have their outfits all checked off. Found them all at Janie and Jack, who carries newborn to size 16. Endless possibilities. How Do Veja Sneakers Fit

About a year ago, one of my friends who has a love for conscious fashion, introduced me to Veja. I had heard of the brand + seen the different styles through various platforms but never really thought twice about it. After my friend told me Veja used responsibly sourced materials + were ethically made I was allllll in.

I LOVE the fact that their sneakers are responsibly made without compromising on design. I now own two different pairs + can stand behind the statement they are worth your penny . . . but since they are a bit pricey, you want to make sure to get the fit right. Below I have shared a few tips + tricks I have picked up when buying a new pair of Veja Sneakers.

SIZING GUIDE:

I would say I have a pretty average sized foot, I’m a pretty true 7.5 shoe, not really narrow or wide. So I ordered a size 37 + have been very happy with the way they fit. Overall, I’d say that they are very true to size, so I’d recommend getting your normal size when buying Veja’s. However, if you’re on the edge for sizes + have wider feet, I would say to go bigger rather than smaller because it’s always easier to fit into a sneaker that’s too big than one that’s leaving you with cramped toes. You know, as they say, life is too short to not wear comfortable shoes and Veja sneakers are definitely comfortable!

SIDE NOTE: From my shoe buying experience, low top sneakers can sometimes rub little in the beginning, but haven’t had any problems with my Veja’s. 11/ 10 recommend these shoes + brand.

SHOE CARE:

I have recently have become a BIG fan of Jason Markk shoe cleaner. It seriously gets the job done + gives your old shoes a new life. Plus it’s very straightforward to use – you just mix it with water and apply it with a sponge. It works wonders on all white or worn down shoes.

Nordstrom Activewear New Arrivals

A simple effortless solution to being comfy + looking put together all at the same swoop? Black on black with a pair of white sneakers! I’m going to tell you how to mimic this look + help you feel more put together.

I had someone ask me how to best navigate the Nordstrom site. Found it interesting, but after she asked me I realized I do have a bit of a system. I search by category quickly first, so for this particular look, I did ACTIVEWEAR – Women’s Activewear – from the main page header. Then I scroll through and add stand out pieces that catch my eye to my cart. I have been looking for a pull over black sherpa + built my look around this piece, so this Free People was the winner for me. After I have my hero piece, I dial it in by my go to brands to see what they have to offer.

I’ve been adding to my VEJA collection slowly + they are super simple to style! I typically wear a 7.5 in sneakers, I wear a 38 in VEJA. Their sizing varies a bit – the first pair I got was pretty much a whole size too big. They are similar to this velcro pair, but I just ended up keeping them. I wear them with a pair of socks + they don’t bother me. Did you know I love the look of big feet? LOL, seriously tho. I’d choose to have my shoes too big rather than too small 10 times out of 10. The style I’m wearing here are the ESPLAR SNEAKERS, I like the contrast on of the logo. They fit great + don’t need much breaking in. I wear these STANCE NO SHOW SOCKS with my sneakers.

K so Jonah. Did you know we are currently a half size away from sharing shoes!? A HALF SIZE. He is 9 + loves shopping as much as I do. Jon teases us big time + I don’t even care. I LOVE HIS TASTE. He’s particular about what he will + won’t wear. I answered TRUE on the “YOU WANT A DAUGHTER” True/False slide in stories last week. BUT I also would have answered TRUE if someone asked me “YOU LOVE SHOPPING WITH YOUR BOYS!”

Top 20 Items Of 2020

2020, WHAT. A. YEAR. Even in the crazy + chaos, this passing year held so many memories, milestones, and monumental moments for our family. Might be an unpopular opinion but it will forever hold a place in my heart. Dont get me wrong though . . . 2021, we are READY for you!

looking back on 2020, here are a few of our Parrish Fam Faves + popular items from the year.

01. this 2 piece set was one of my faaaavorite purchases of 2020. really embraced the whole quarantine style.

02. if you’ve seen me this winter, you’ve seen me in this coat. comes in 3 colors + wishing I bought them all. on MEGA sale still.

03. found these mules originally during the nsale + grabbed them in tan. might just need all the colors + designs. wear them on repeat.

0.4 best dang boots ever made. love them so much bought them in sesame + black.

0.5. with a lot of the gyms closed this year, I needed some inspiration + motivation, which is why l love this tank from Lululemon. might just be me but when I put on workout gear I just feel more motivated. anyone relate?

0.6. another love of mine in 2020. so easy to dress this sweater up + down. have in camel + black.

07. keeping my fingers crossed 2021 will allow for more travel, so I can sport this backpack more. in the meantime, have been using it to run around town + go to work. fits my laptop with room to spare.

08. never leave the house without spraying this perfume on. smells heavenly.

09. the dupe of all dupes this year. best $18 sunglasses from amazon.

10. these Air Force sneakers might have been the best selling item worldwide in 2020 but I support the movement.

HOW TO WEAR CROP TOPS + HOW I STYLED MINE 3 WAYS

PSA! PSA! Did you know Free People has tons of basics for only $38. The fit + colors can’t be beat. In simpler terms, they are all around ahhhmazing.

A few weeks back, I snagged a couple + I have loved the baggy fit of this one. It’s currently sold out – but has restocked a few times, so keep an eye out! I also just ordered this crop tee in a few colors, so I’ll report back! I wanted to teach you 3 ways I love to style my cropped tees aka how to wear the same tee everyday + if you don’t have the same crop as me, that’s fine. . . any one will work!

JEANS: one of my go to picks when pairing a cropped tee is with a pair of jeans. Add in a front tuck + you’re ready to take on the day.

SWEATS: Because of course you have to have a comfy outfit sometimes (most of the time)! I love to pair it with Brandy Melville one size sweats. Buttttt, if you’re not down with the one size fits all look I found a super similar pair from nasty gal.

SKIRT/DRESS : I love a look that’s a little girly + a little tomboy allll at once. I find that throwing on a crop + a pair of sneakers with a slip dress or skirt is the perfect combo for this + super lightweight + breezy for the summer. If y’know what I mean.

MY FAVORITE BIKER SHORTS + HOW TO STYLE BIKE SHORTS

**HAT** | **SUNGLASSES** | **SWEATSHIRT** | **BIKE SHORTS** (**similar**) | **MUG** | **NIKE SNEAKERS**

I know what you might be thinking – believe me, I was right there with you at first. Biker shorts? This is one of those trends I didn’t see sticking around for as long as it has, but let me tell you I’M HERE FOR IT! Once you biker short, you’ll never go back.

I’ve tried quite a few of bike shorts + learned about all the different ways to style. I have officially hopped on the biker shorts bandwagon! Whether I’m working out, running errands, or being mom, they cover all my outfit needs. I love that there are so many length options as well.

As one of summer’s coolest trends, there are an overwhelming amount of choices out there, only to leave you feeling a little confused as to which to invest in + where to get started. I wanted to share with you a few tips for purchasing and styling, as well as my personal favorite biker shorts I’m lovin’!

STYLING TIPS:

Length: I prefer the 8″ length. It’s long enough, but doesn’t go all the way past my knee cap. I have found 10″ feel a little too long for me, but this is totally up to you. For working out or hiking, I prefer the 6″ length.

How to Pair: If you prefer a longer tee + for it to go passed your bum, I’d recommend ordering some oversized tees! An overall oversized tee or crewneck sweatshirt will be the best for this comfy, but still put together look.

Pair it with an ankle sock + Nike Air Force ones for a sportier look!

I find most people feel more comfortable in a longer tee with biker shorts than crops but if you prefer a crop tee, I love to find one that meets at the waistline + I can tuck in a couple inches of the tee into my biker shorts. I’d recommend a plain shirt for this. Pair with tennis shoes or slides!

RECOMMENDED BRANDS:

Lululemon – hands down the comfiest + the best. They don’t ride up, but rather give you an instant lift + feel buttery soft. Sadly, they are sold out a lot in basic colors, so if you ever see them come in stock snag them! You won’t regret it.

Amazon Knock Off – If bike shorts are a trend for you, do not buy full price. It won’t be worth it, if you don’t plan on wearing them again next summer. I haven’t tried this amazon pair, but have read some of the thousands of raving reviews + have heard amazing reviews from friends.

Aerie – Last year I snagged a few of these + wore them in Hawaii! I love the length for hiking or throwing on over a swimsuit. The quality was awesome, too! I love the washed look + bonus, they have a few cute patterns this year.

Target – Target has lots of options that are affordable. I recently bought these closie biker shorts + loooove the fit + wash.
