Did you hear the news!? Bloomingdale’s is having a Friends & Family sale now through April 3. With so many good pieces to snag at 25% off, I thought I would I pull together a few of my favorites from jeans, to spring dresses, sunglasses, shoes, household good, beauty products + more! Things are flying off the shelves, so be such to add to cart before the sale ends on the 3rd!
Graphic T-shirts are one of the most versatile + comfortable + trending items to date. I don’t know about youuuu but its 100% the first thing I grab for on a lounge or chill day. . . but a graphic tees don’t have to stop being worn on your off days, they work just as well paired with a blazer + mules for work. Some people worry they aren’t “graphic tee people” so, I always push people to focus more on the pieces you style with it. When adding elements that are little dressier such as a blazer, pants, mules, hats it make the graphic tee look more accessible for everyone.
Another thing people tend to run into when shopping for graphic tees is the priceeeeee. Some tees are more of a splurge + allow you to have for years to come. While you can find others for a snag of a deal. Some places I like to shop for graphic tees are:
I always look forward to Easter coming! It’s a sweet reminder of what’s truly important + the joy of it is much needed right now.
I enjoy planning + putting together Easter baskets for the kids, even more so than Christmas goodies for stockings . . . so that’s saying something. There are so many cute baskets, books, treats + unique little toys easily accessible now days! I try to source thoughtful gifts tailored to each one of them – but am noticing as they get older – they get much more boring. Haha!
Quarantine tip I learned last year: if you’re planning to buy from Target or Walmart, choose in-store pick up or drive up so you don’t have to shop around! But don’t wait for the last day or you won’t have any eggs or Easter candy!
A good pair of denim is hands down one of the best wardrobe staple. They’re an essential piece in my #momuniform but is it just me or do you also ask yourself about 2975328 + questions before buying a pair of jeans . . . do I like + trust the brand? how + were they made? how long will they last? how much are they? and if you ask yourself similar questions, they’re all valid points and one of my favorite ways to narrow down my search is online reviews or by word of mouth. You could say I take my research VERY serious when it comes to denim.
I loved the shade, distressing + quality on this pair from shopbop + I know it will be a staple in my closet so it was worth the splurge. But if you’re looking for a similar style for less, I snagged these from Target a few months ago + they were only $20!
Nordstrom, Annie Bing, Madewell, and SHOPBOP are some of my go-to places when it comes to buying denim. Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pairs + filtered out anything over $100, leaving you only with pairs that are both affordable + rank high in my books.
Has it been like the longest, weirdest winter ever to anyone else? READY FOR SPRING! Bring on picnic’s under the blossoms on the front lawn, watching the sun set without jackets + popsicles a plenty. We are actually going to hang around here for Spring Break while we wait for my passport to arrive – but then we’re headed back to Cabo with the boys in a few weeks to celebrate the right way. Put together my packing list below!
I feel bad + a bit regretful I wasn’t more open about our journey finding this wood stain. IT HAS NOT BEEN A SIMPLE TRIP TO THE PAIN STORE. All caps for more passion. I dunno why I thought it would be? No one also warned me about a lot of things before building a home but it’s late + I need to stop complaining. Basically we spent many uh nights in our apartment garage trying not to get high while we sampled stain after stain on wood piece after wood piece. Our HOA insists (I’m sure I’ll eventually see the light) on us using real natural wood siding. This has been on my mind since we finalized plans with Hyrum. I have an entire saved album of wood ideas on instagram that I constantly brought to meetings. I knew exactly what I didn’t like, especially after it was painted – but couldn’t direct the ship to the right land of what I did like for the life of me. BUT HERE WE ARE. A solid white oak with juuust enough variation + custom white wash of warmth to help me sleep easy from here on out.
I showed up to the house after school drop off yesterday morning (like I do every morning) in Jon’s slippers + Jack on my back – found the place straight HOPPIN with updates. Met the painters from BUEHNER BROTHER PAINTING who are patiently hand staining every dang piece of wood you see for our siding. He already challenged Jonah to a basketball game – bless him for being as patient + kind as he is. Please pray it stays this way, we still have a lot of ground to cover with our paint list.
I haven’t been to a gym since beginning of last year probs? But it’s no secret loungewear is my go to – I’ve just kinda had to reconfigure how I style it. You don’t haveee to wear nike’s or functional running shoes with leggings did you know this? I’m giving you permission to break this rule with me if you need a friend! Realizing shoes were the barrier to more minimal loungewear was a big break through for me with wearing leggings outside of pilates. Check out my VEJA sneaker guide if you’re in the market for something more casual. I love every single one of the Varley pieces I have gotten recently. Uber comfy, not toooo tight + just long enough on the tops for me to feel comfortable for any errand during a busy day. Even got my mama a set just before Christmas + if it’s Marsha approved – it’s a goooood set indeed. 🙂
Although we still may not be jetting off to tropical beaches this summer yet, its still a great time of year to give your swimwear selection an update, even if it’s just to wear in your kiddy pool outback. There is something about swimsuits that instantly elevates my mood because in my eyes, when brands start releasing their swimsuits it means warmer weather is just around the corner. In my swimsuit buying experience, I have learned it’s worthy paying the extra penny + investing in a swimsuit you’ll have for years to come. Oftentimes, when you buy a lower priced suit, don’t get me wrong I LOVE TARGET SWIMWEAR + still buy it every year, but I’ve learn they just don’t last as long. I did a little experiment one year + learned if I have to buy a new target suit every year for 10 years, the investment suit pays itself + I WOULD SAVED MONEY!
Below, I have rounded up my favorite one piece swimsuits for every price point.
Swimsuits are listed from highest price to lowest.
I think many of us can agree that one of life’s few certainties is that when summer bursts onto the scene, so do the cute dresses. Since chilly + cold temperatures seem to take up 3/4 of the year in Utah, when Easter arrives I waste no time embracing all the floral + bright +ruffled + simple spring dresses. If a piece is lightweight, bright in color or shows at least a hint of skin, Easter is the time to start wearing it in my eyes. There are a ton of cute spring dresses out there to compliment every woman’s wardrobe, style + silhouette. So, with Easter right around the corner, I have rounded up a few of my favorite styles, all ranging at different price points.
Some of my favorite places to shop for Spring + Summer dresses:
Hoping we are on the out of masks, but until then – who would have thought face masks would be one of the biggest fashion trends of 2020 + 2021? Last year, when there was talk these were here to stay, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to buy some that I actually wanted to wear. So, whether you’re looking for reusable face masks to prevent waste, or you’re wanting to make a fashion statement as we head into spring I have roundup of my favorite face masks below — no more boring blue paper masks . . . unless that’s your thing!
Let’s cut to the chase: I am verrrrry passionate about makeup + skin care. I could spend hours in Sephora + try a loooot of different products. Wanted to give a place to land for some of my favorites.
M A K E U P :
BOBBI BROWN FULL COVER CONCEALER: This is the under eye concealer I wear. Color? WARM NATURAL. my under eyes need the most love. this one doesn’t crease during the day + goes on smoothly. Apply in dots under your eye, be sure to blend with this crease brush or a beauty blender.
LAURA MERCIER SECRET UNDER EYE BRIGHTENING POWDER: instant eye brightener. Give a swipe under your eye after you apply after your under eye concealer, just be sure it has dried fully. It will set your product into place + lift your eyes – instantly making looking more awake. Reapply throughout the day if needed. I apply with Bobbi Brown angled brush.
BOBBI BROWN ILLUMINATING SETTING POWDER: color NUDE. Natural highlighter/shimmer that brings our your natural glow, but doesn’t look too shimmery, which i love. I apply after BB Cream foundation when I want a little more blend. This setting powder blurs concealer + foundation together seamlessly. The guy at the BB counter told me it’s the secret weapon for that “california beach glow” + I agree.
BOBBI BROWN SHIMMER BRICK HIGHLIGHTER: color: pink quartz. you’re welcome for the time you save with this. be sure it stays somewhere safe, it kiiinda shatters easily.
BROW FLICK:prepare for the most compliments ever on your brow game. This product work wonders giving you natural-looking brow. Use this to fill in my eyebrows everyday + I’m obsessed. Filmed a quick tutorial here, so you could see the before + after.
CAUDALIE BEAUTY ELIXIR: I set my make up with this every. single. day. Good for refreshing during the day + doesn’t build up. Feels clean + light. I’ll even spray this on make – up free days, on a clean face. Snag a travel size if you’re wanting to try it before you commit.
MAC LASH MASCARA:I know theres so many brands out there for mascara but I always come back to this one. Been using since high school. I don’t like the waterproof one though.
THE SLIM GLOW MATTE LIPSTICK:perfect natural colors that enhance your natural lip. I use the color (207 – Illegal Rosy Nude – pure pink) sold so many friends on this lipstick.
BRAZILIAN KISS BUTTER: The best lip butter that will leave your lips soft + dewy while pulling out your natural color.
S K I N C A R E :
MODERE LIQUID COLLAGEN:If you haven’t seen or heard me on my high horse about Modere Liquid Collagen, come over. IT IS REVOLUTIONARY + definitely my favorite find of 2020. All of my sisters, my mom + Jon are all on their own regime. Text me for before + after pics. It has helped my hair grow exponentially + has reduced my wrinkles/veins from the inside out. My joints feel like a teen again! First time customers use referral code gparrish for $10 off!
SKIN CEUTICALS C E FERULIC: This product is pricey, but well worth it for the glow it brings! THIS HAS CHANGED MY GLOWING SKIN GAME, YO! I use it every morning. This vitamin C serum was the first thing I bought from Skin ceuticals. It provides environmental protection, lightens lines, firms skin + brightens your complexion.
DR. BRANDT MICRODERMABRASION EXFOLIATOR:This is an intense – age-defying exfoliator that gently polishes, smooths the look of skin, and buffs away dead surface skin cells for a smoother, brighter complexion in minutes. If you want a smooth surface for your make up to adhere to, you need this! If you spray tan your face, you need this. Some might argue that this exfoliator feels like sand paper to which I argue back – wait until morning + you seeeee your skin! I exfoliate my face + neck with this once (sometimes twice) a week. Put it on with, let it sit for a good 5 minutes then rinse with warm water!
J.R. WATKINS DETOX SUGAR BODY POLISH:This product is a more affordable option for a body exfoliator, but it works like a high-end product! It is made with fine sugar crystals that gently exfoliate the skin. As you work the product into your skin, it turns into a soothing foaming cleanser that leaves your skin soft, smooth + free from oil or residue (which is a huge win in my book!) This is a great option for prepping your skin for self-tanner!
T O O L S :
FACIAL STEAMER: I have had this streamer for little over a year now + I’m OBSESSED! Detoxify and cleanse your face like the professionals, no matter your skin type. This facial steamer is designed to clear pores + stimulate circulation. It allows your product to go in + actually work.
SLIP SILK PILLOWCASE:Invest in your skin this year + support it with a Slip silk pillow case. This one is a cheaper Amazon option, which would totally do the job as well. It has 20,000 positive reviews. The slip silk pillow case is my fave because it’s natural, hypoallergenic, dust mite-resistant, and allows my skin to breathe, unlike synthetic satin (polyester) which sweats, essentially negating the benefits.
SILK MASK:The struggle with maskne + mask rash is very real. If you have has an issue with either, I recommend giving these a go! I also love these STANCE masks if I am going to be wearing it for a longer period of time + so do the boys.
B O D Y :
NECESSAIRE BODY LOTION:I have sensitive skin. This non-fragrance, no added BS body lotion is remarkable. Bye bye razor burn. Buy now, thank me later. I also live for their sex gel.
GLOSSIER YOU:a best seller from 2020 + one of my favorite perfumes of all time!
S E L F T A N :
QUICK TAN: 7 years strong! This is my holy grail tanner for my face. Take my word for it + don’t mess around with the drops. Quick spritz from forehead to chin (up + down across your face) one layer for your whole face. I apply at night, then apply one layer of moisturizer on to it in the morning. It offers the best glow + the color compliments my face + make up the best. I use less make up when I’m tan 🙂 This product fades + doesn’t have to shed off, which I love. I’ve tried lots + lots of options, this one is my all time favorite.
B.TAN FOREVER + EVER:Before we left for Cabo, my mom showed me this self tanner + I haven’t looked back! Only $10 at Walmart. To apply I HIGHLY recommend using this velvet tanning mitt or else you will have one tan hand . . . been there done that.
EXFOLIATION CLOTHS: Less than $10 for a 20 pack! My friend Aubry introduced me to these cloths + they work beautifully. I think the biggest secret to a good tan is a good exfoliation before you apply!
February #1 best seller was definitely these Laguna Boots. The fit, quality, colors . . . pure gold. I bought mine last fall + every time they sell out SO quickkkk. I was so stoked to receive an email this morning saying the sesame color was back in stock. BE QUICK to snag them. Definitely an investment shoe but once you put them on, I promise you won’t regret it.
Shop some of y’alls other favorites from February below!
Last year while online shopping from the comfort of my home in loungewear, I was on the hunt for a new fall + winter jacket. I remember clicking on a site + seeing that under the “jackets” category, there was a new subset: “shackets.” Then I went to the next site, it was there too + the next + the next + the next . . . you get it, they where everywhere!
A “shacket”, aka a shirt jacket is heavier than a shirt, but not quite as heavy as a jacket. While many of us probably could deem a few pieces in out closets as one, we have rebranded this concept making it one of the most sought-after pieces of 2021.
You can literally wear a shacket for all seasons + temperatures. If its winter, layer it with a sweater. Spring? with a long sleeve or short sleeve tee. Summer? we all have a few chill nights when a tank top won’t fully make the cut. Fall? you’ll know the drill by then + be in love with this new fashion statement.
Below I have rounded up some of my favorite shackets that I have been loving for all different price points + color requests.
